The following information is being provided to you by the Sheriff of Holmes County to ensure proper and efficient processing of your Concealed Carry application. Hours that the applications
will be accepted are 9AM – 11AM and Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. We will attempt to process all applicants that show up, but may have to require some to return on the next scheduled day if too many show up at once. Application packets are available for pickup at the Sheriff’s Office at any time, but can only be returned during the hours listed above. Applicants are required to read the Ohio Concealed Carry booklet supplied with the application packet before returning the completed application along with proof that they have successfully completed the minimum required training as specified in the booklet. Along with the completed
application and training certification, applicants must pay a
non-refundable fee of $55.00 an additional $24.00 will be charged for
those who are residence of Ohio less than 5 years to cover the FBI check.
On October 17, 2009 the new fee schedule will be as follows: $67.00 for a new application, $50.00 for a renewal
application. If the applicant has been an The fees must be paid at the time the application is submitted for processing. We will only accept cash, cashiers check or money orders in the correct amount. No personal checks will be accepted. Photographs of the applicant will be taken at the time the application is processed so the applicant does not need to provide one. Applicants will have to provide positive form of identification at the time they present their application for processing. Permits that are approved for issue will be ready for pickup at the Sheriff’s Office 45 days after they were submitted. Applicants are asked to not call the Sheriff’s Office to check on the status of their application within the 45 day period. If the 45th day falls on a weekend, the permit can be picked up on the first non-holiday business day after the weekend. Persons whose permit or application is denied for any reason will be notified in the manner prescribed by law.
