Concealed Carry Permits (CCW)

CCW applications will be accepted Monday - Thursday from 9AM – 11:30 AM and 12:30PM – 3:30PM, excluding holidays.* Times and days may be adjusted according to the volume of persons submitting applications, and the availability of staff.

*All applicants should call the Sheriff's Office prior to your arrival to check the availability of staff to process your application and to ensure the office is not experiencing technical difficulties with computer equipment.

Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. We will attempt to process all applicants that show up, but may have to require some to return on the next scheduled day if too many show up at once.

Application packets are available for pickup at the Sheriff’s Office at any time or can be downloaded at the link provided below, but can only be returned during the hours listed above. Applicants are required to read the Ohio Concealed Carry booklet supplied with the application packet before returning the completed application along with proof that they have successfully completed the minimum required training as specified in the booklet.

 The fee schedule is as follows:

  • $67.00 for a new application
  • $50.00 for a renewal application.
  • If the applicant has been an Ohio resident less than 5 years, the fees are now $67.00 + $24.00= $91.00 for a new applicant or $50.00 + $24.00= $74.00 for a renewal applicant.
  • Emergency/Temporary license applications will be charged $15.00 + $46.00 (total cost of back round check) = $61.00, plus an additional $24.00 if the applicant has been a resident of Ohio for less than 5 years.
  • There is a $15.00 fee for replacement cards issued that have been lost or stolen.

The fees must be paid at the time the application is submitted for processing. We will only accept cash, cashiers check or money orders in the correct amount. No personal checks will be accepted.

Photographs of the applicant will be taken at the time the application is processed. The applicant does not need to provide a photograph.

Applicants will have to provide identification at the time they present their application for processing.

Permits that are approved for issue will be ready for pickup at the Sheriff’s Office within 45 days after they were submitted. Applicants are asked to not call the Sheriff’s Office to check on the status of their application within the 45 day period. If the 45th day falls on a weekend, the permit can be picked up on the first non-holiday business day after the weekend.

Persons whose permit or application is denied for any reason will be notified in the manner prescribed by law.

Applicants are reminded not to bring a firearm to the Sheriff’s Office when returning their application for processing.
