Subject: Fatal Crash in Beach City is Under Investigation by the Holmes County Sheriff's Office
Holmes County Sheriff Tim Zimmerly reports that his Deputies are investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that killed a Beach City Man around 5:18 p.m. yesterday afternoon. The crash occurred on State Route 515 in the intersection of County Road 168 in Walnut Creek Twp.
Adam E. Miller, age 19, of Beach City was pronounced dead at the scene by Paint Twp. (Winesburg) EMS. Miller was operating a 2014 Kawasaki Motorcycle at the time of the crash.
Investigation by Deputies indicates that Miller was southbound on State Route 515 when a 2011 Dodge Ram Pickup, driven by John F. Owens, age 88, of Sugarcreek, pulled into his path from a stop sign at the intersection County Road 168. Miller then struck the driver’s side front bumper of the truck and was ejected from the motorcycle. Both vehicles remained in the intersection after the crash. Miller was wearing a helmet and Owens was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. No impairment from either driver is suspected.
The intersection was closed for several hours as the crash was investigated.
This crash remains under investigation by deputies.
Assisting deputies at the scene were Paint Twp. (Winesburg) Fire and EMS. Holmes County Coroner Dr. Leon Miller, and Holmes County Prosecuting Attorney Matt Muzic.
